Meditation Everyday Practice: Mul Mantra
40 Days of Mul Mantra
Beginning March 27
Live Practice each morning at 6am PT on our online portal at soultribeonline.com
There is power in repetition.
There is power in discipline.
And there is profound transformation in returning to the same sacred sound every day — regardless of mood, circumstance, or outer conditions.
Beginning March 27, we enter a 40-day Meditation Everyday Practice centered on 11 recitations of the Mul Mantra.
The Mul Mantra — the opening verse of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib — articulates the fundamental nature of consciousness: timeless, creative, without fear, without hatred, self-existent.
Reciting it daily is not about performance or perfection.
It is about reorienting the mind.
Each day, through 11 repetitions, we imprint these qualities into the subconscious:
Truth as identity.
Creativity as essence.
Fearlessness as baseline.
Compassion as expression.
Why 40 days?
In yogic science, 40 days establishes a new habit pattern in the psyche. It creates a groove in the mind — a restructuring of mental rhythm. What begins as discipline becomes devotion. What begins as effort becomes steadiness.
This practice is simple:
• 11 recitations per day
• Approximately 11 minutes
• Same mantra, every day
• No complexity — just consistency
Whether you are new to mantra meditation or deepening an established practice, this 40-day container offers structure, accountability, and collective resonance.
You may notice:
• Greater mental clarity
• Emotional steadiness
• Reduced reactivity
• Increased trust in your inner authority
• A subtle but tangible sense of alignment
This is not a dramatic practice.
It is a stabilizing one.
As we move through early spring — a season of renewal — we commit not to external reinvention, but to internal refinement.
Forty days.
One mantra.
A daily return to Truth.
Understanding the Mul Mantra
The Mul Mantra is the foundational statement of consciousness within the Sikh tradition. It describes the essential nature of reality — and, by extension, the true nature of the self.
While translations vary slightly, the essence is as follows:
Ik Onkar
There is One Creative Reality.
Sat Nam
Its Name is Truth. Truth is identity.
Karta Purakh
The Creative Being — active, generating, expressing through all life.
Nirbhau
Without fear.
Nirvair
Without hatred or enmity.
Akal Murat
Timeless form — beyond birth and death.
Ajuni
Unborn.
Saibhang
Self-existent. Self-illuminating.
Gur Prasad
Realized through grace — through awakened awareness.
When we recite the Mul Mantra daily, we are not asking for something.
We are reminding ourselves of something.
We are imprinting the psyche with the qualities of fearlessness, neutrality, creativity, and truth.
Over 40 days, repetition moves these words from intellectual understanding into embodied resonance.
The mantra begins as sound.
It becomes identity.
